Welcome back to my blog, or if you’ve just come across The Disoriental:
Hello! Welcome! Come in! Have a cuppa!
Before we go on… [SPOILER ALERT] The following post contains quotes from Mitch Albom’s ‘The Next Person You Meet in Heaven.’ Click away here if you’re not ready for this!
Continue scrolling down if you’d like to know the ten quotes that really spoke to me (and really turned on the waterworks) plus, experience it in ASMR (oh yes, I went there!).
This is not a book review, though it is my way of sharing my love for this book. Do enjoy the experience and leave a comment below on which quote spoke to you the most!
Quote 1: “Do you know what causes wind? High pressure meeting low pressure. Warm meeting cold. Change. Change causes wind. And the bigger the change, the stronger the wind blows.”
Quote 2: “What’s to understand about being lonely? Annie snapped. It’s terrible. Not always. Do you think, if you hadn’t felt so lonely, you would have chosen me at the shelter? Or taken off my collar to let me eat that first morning? Your loneliness gave me a home. And happiness.”
Quote 3: “But, like many her age, Annie’s thirst for independence overruled her need for guidance.”
Quote 4: “We are blinded by our regrets, Annie. We don’t realize who else we punish while we’re punishing ourselves.”
Quote 5: “Secrets. We think by keeping them, we’re controlling things, but all the while, they’re controlling us.”
Quote 6: “What purpose could make her leave this room? Every idea seemed small, inconsequential. She was broken open. But broken open is still open.”
Quote 7: “On earth, we get the what of things. The why takes a little longer.”
Quote 8: “That’s how salvation works. The wrongs we do open doors to do right.”
Quote 9: “There’s no such thing as a nobody. And there are no mistakes.”
Quote 10: “Loss is as old as life itself. But for all our evolution, we are yet to accept it.”
